Concept Abstract:
Introducing the concept of the ‘migrating museum’ to represent institutional change the conference intends to reknit the term migration and the content expectations it generates. Cultural practices or migration are both challenging and ambivalent. Western policies create multi-cultural settings that are utopian and support inherent colonial dynamics. The aim is then to reconsider the term migration in the light of race, class and gender constructions. This would result in critical interventions into museum and media structures and inquiries into the role of cultural producers, viewers and subjects.

Conference Setting:
The basic structure of the setting build up for the conference is based on the deconstructed NBP object of the project “Would you like to participate in an artistic experience?”. The object spins as a bigger then life drawing the room and breaks up the architecture of the academy space. All elements which are placed as seating elements are mobile and thus allow the talk formats to vary and presented ideas to wander.
